Ilan Pappe is a professor of history at Exeter University. He graduated from an Israeli university and later did his PhD at Oxford. He want back to Israel and became an academic at Haifa University. His study of the history of Israel led him to become one of its most vocal critics. His stance resulted in him being unable to gain promotion in his job. In addition he was also receiving daily death threats. He decided to leave the country in 2007.
In this 4-part video clips, Pappe delivers a lecture to an audience in Vancouver, Canada on the process of ethnic cleansing of Palestine by Israeli Jews during the formation of the state of Israel. The issue is also the topic of his latest book.
The fifth video is a talk given by Pappe at Haifa university on the same topic before he left Israel.
